Eileen M. Sharkey Listed in Denver Business Journal’s List of Colorado’s 2007 Top
20 Independent Wealth Advisors
December 21, 2007 (DENVER, CO) – Eileen M. Sharkey, Principal, Sharkey, Howes &
Javer, was recognized in the Denver Business Journal’s 2007 list of Colorado’s
Top 20 Independent Wealth Advisors.
Sharkey, who earned her Bachelor’s degree in history and economics from the University
of London in 1968, has been practicing financial planning in Denver, Colorado since
1978. She opened the firm Sharkey, Howes & Javer, Denver, in 1990 with partners
Lawrence E. Howes and Joel B. Javer.
The Denver Business Journal (DBJ) asked Sharkey and other Wealth Advisors questions
to familiarize readers with the advisors listed in the 2007 Colorado Top 20 Independent
Wealth Advisors, published in the December 21 issue of the Denver Business Journal.
- DBJ: Where’s a good place to put your money in 2008?
- Sharkey: It completely depends on the client and his/her circumstances.
- DBJ: What piece of advice do you find yourself giving clients most often?
- Sharkey: A portfolio that matches your personal goals, not trying to beat some index.
Wealth advising, according to Eileen Sharkey, is comparable to a person in good
health, in that if a client is not constantly thinking about it, then the adviser
must be doing a good job.
Sharkey carries this philosophy over to her firm Sharkey, Howes & Javer, located
at 720 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO 80246, which has about 1,000 clients and $475
million dollars under management. “We really try to treat each client like they
are the only one that we have, and that is why we are successful in what we do,”
Sharkey said.
Sharkey, originally from England, lives in Evergreen with her husband James.
Sharkey, Howes & Javer is located at 720 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO 80246 and
