Mimi Hackley, MPH, CFP® joined Sharkey, Howes & Javer in 1998 and earned her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in March of 2000. Mimi became a shareholder of the firm in 2003 and serves as Director of Financial Planning. She also serves on the firm’s Investment Committee and Financial Planning Committee.
Mimi ensures that our financial plans incorporate cutting-edge financial planning principles and the most recent changes to the laws including taxes and estate planning. She is committed to providing a customized and thorough financial analysis with written recommendations that make it easier for clients to meet their goals. This includes presenting an investment strategy that is specifically tailored to meet the objectives of our clients’ unique financial plan.
Mimi enjoys public speaking and working with the media. She has addressed financial planning issues on Denver television news programs and has been quoted in The Rocky Mountain News, USA Today and Real Simple Magazine.
As an active member of the Financial Planning Association of Colorado for over a decade, and past President and Chairman of the Board, Mimi likes to promote professional development.
She has served on the National Financial Planning Association’s Professional Development Committee and Chapter Leadership Resource Council Chapter Recognition Committee. Mimi served on the Planned Giving Committee of Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation, the Professional Advisors Council of the Denver Foundation and as an adjunct faculty member of Metropolitan State College of Denver, teaching the retirement and employee benefits portion of the CFP® Program.
Mimi earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Irvine and her Masters degree in Public Health from San Diego State University. Until entering the field of financial planning, Mimi worked in the public health sector directing a national registry and managing national multi-center clinical trials. Her experience in Public Health lends itself very well to the many facets of retirement planning.
Away from the office, Mimi enjoys spending time with her family, camping, hiking, playing tennis, snowshoeing, traveling and participating in the many cultural activities that Denver offers.
